  • If I change my subscription to the monthly payment option in the middle of a yearly payment cycle, will you refund the rest of my yearly payment?

    In any of the following cases, we'll refund the balance of the paid annual payment, based on the number of months that have elapsed up to the date of the plan change:

    • When you upgrade to the monthly Creative or Professional plan from the yearly Core plan
    • When you upgrade to the monthly Professional plan from the yearly Creative plan

    It usually takes about 3 to 7 days to receive the refund, which comes via the same payment method you used to purchase your subscription.

  • Can I control all lighting fixtures registered in Fixture Library from rekordbox?

    Only specific DMX lighting fixture features – such as the dimmer, strobe, color and moving head (PAN/TILT) – can be controlled with LIGHTING mode.

    The lighting fixtures, which have other features than the above, may not work as expected.

    Please also take note that effect lights, lasers, fog machines, and all-in-one lighting systems are not supported.

  • What is TIDAL?

    TIDAL is a streaming service that DJs can use to access the TIDAL music catalog.

  • When using Cloud Library Sync, rekordbox responds slow.

    If you're synchronizing a lot of data using Cloud Library Sync, rekordbox may respond slow depending on your computer and network environment.
    In this case, pausing sync may solve the issue.

    - To pause sync

    Right-click the Cloud Library Sync icon that appears in the system tray on Windows or in the menu bar on Mac and select [Pause sync].

    Changes made in rekordbox library after you pause sync will not be synchronized to rekordbox on other devices until you restart sync.

    - To restart sync

    Right-click the Cloud Library Sync icon that appears in the system tray on Windows or in the menu bar on Mac and select [Start sync].

    Even if you pause sync, synchronization will start when you relaunch Windows/Mac.

  • Why doesn’t rekordbox show some of the tracks displayed on a streaming service’s website or app?

    The use of certain tracks on streaming services by third parties is restricted due to copyright holders' intentions or other reasons.

  • I’m having problems syncing to my Dropbox account. What should I do?

    Check if you're logged into your Dropbox account in the rekordbox preferences.

    Next, make sure the account you're logged into on the Dropbox desktop application matches the Dropbox account you're logged into within rekordbox.

  • What is DMX Direct Control?

    This feature enables you to send DMX signals to preset DMX channels independently from any automatic lighting effects controlled by rekordbox.

  • When I log into TIDAL, the login window doesn’t display properly in my web browser. Why not?

    You may be using a browser that's not supported by TIDAL.

  • When I synced multiple devices using Cloud Library Sync, the same track showed up twice in the track list.

    You can select [Tracks stored on the computer] or [Tracks stored on other devices] in the Cloud column to remove unwanted tracks by filtering them.
    Syncing the same track on multiple devices with Cloud Library Sync after importing the same track on each device results in duplication. You can determine which device the track is from by filtering by [Tracks stored on the computer] or [Tracks stored on other devices] in the cloud column. Then you can delete the tracks you don't want.

  • Can I convert USB libraries I’ve been using into Device Library Plus?

    Yes, you can.

    You can convert the traditional Device Library in the USB storage device to the Device Library Plus format with rekordbox for Mac/Windows.

    • If the following dialog box appears when connecting a USB storage device, select [YES] to convert.
    • Select the device from the media browser, click [Convert from Device Library] from the Device Library Plus context menu and follow the instructions.

  • After uploading a track via rekordbox, I can’t play the track with the iTunes/Apple Music app.

    If [Move] is selected when uploading tracks, the tracks will move from the original folder to the Dropbox folder.

    As a result, the tracks in the folder that the iTunes/Apple Music app refers to are deleted and can't be played.

    To upload a track and keep it in the folder that the iTunes/Apple Music app refers to, select [Copy].
    You can switch this setting in [Preferences] > [CLOUD] category > [Library Sync] tab > [Operation for uploading tracks].

    If you've already moved a track to a Dropbox folder, you can return it to the previous folder by selecting [Cloud Library Sync] > [Move to local storage] in the context menu.

    No, you don't have to set them again.

    When you run ver. 7 for the first time, your current library will be converted for use with ver. 7.

    All information in your library, such as cues, beatgrid, and playlists, will be copied over. (Alternatively you can select [File] menu > [Library] > [Import your library from ver.5 (or earlier)].)

  • What is Track Suggestion?

    Track Suggestion is a recommendation function that displays recommended tracks as a list based on the loading track and tracks specified in the list.

    You can select up to 5 recommendations, including [Era], [Mood], [Association], [Collection Radar], and [Streaming Radar] with Track Suggestion.

    While [Era], [Mood], and [Association] make recommendations based on track meta data, [Collection Radar] and [Streaming Radar] recommend tracks with similar musical characteristics based on unique algorithms developed using AI learning.

    • Era
      Prioritizes the display of tracks with similar year, BPM, etc. from [Collections].
    • Mood
      Prioritizes the display of tracks with similar genre, BPM, etc. from [Collections].
    • Association
      Prioritizes the display of tracks with similar label, composer, etc. information from [Collections].
    • Collection Radar
      Prioritizes the display of tracks with similar musical characteristics from [Collections].
    • Streaming Radar
      Prioritizes the display of tracks with similar musical characteristics from the streaming service.

    Track Suggestion can be displayed using the sub-panel button located in Tree View or on the right side of the browse screen.

  • What is STEMS function?

    This is a function for outputting the sound of a track separately in VOCAL Stem, DRUMS Stem, and INST Stem. ACTIVE STEM, STEM ISO, and STEM FX functions are usable.

    • ACTIVE STEM
      Each Stem is output by setting each STEM MUTE button of VOCAL/DRUMS/INST displayed at the deck Stem to ON. If it is set to OFF, each Stem is muted.
      Click [Preferences] > [Extensions] category > [STEMS] tab > [ACTIVE STEM Setting]. You can select [MUTE] or [SOLO].

    With [MUTE] setting, output / mute of each Stem can be controlled.
    With [SOLO] setting, output of all Stems or output of one Stem can be controlled.

    • STEM ISO
      If you set STEM ISO mode button that is displayed at mixer Stem to ON, the mode shifts to STEM ISO mode in which you can adjust the sound volume of each Stem.
      When STEM ISO mode is ON, adjust the sound volume of each Stem with each knob of VOCAL/DRUMS/INST.
    • STEM FX
      If you set each STEM FX button of VOCAL/DRUMS/INST that is displayed at effect Stem to ON, it is possible to apply an effect to each Stem.

    To activate STEMS function, check-mark [Enable the STEMS function] (Click [Preferences] > [Extensions] category > [STEMS] tab).

    To receive a refund, you'll need to apply via the MyCommerce website (https://www.mycommerce.com/shopper-support/) within 14 days of the start of your subscription.

    Your access to rekordbox (paid plan) will end within five (5) working days of processing the refund request.

    After 14 days from the start of your subscription, you won't be entitled to a refund.

    Cancellation

    If you decide to cancel your subscription, please visit the following page, which only opens for subscribers.

  • What DJ equipment can automatically select decks for lighting in PERFORMANCE mode?

    Connect the DJ equipment and PC/Mac with a USB cable, and check [Preferences] > [Audio]category > [Input/Output]tab > [Mixer Mode] (in PERFORMANCE mode).

    • If your DJ equipment supports internal mixer mode, automatic deck selection is available when [Internal] is selected.
    • If your DJ equipment supports external mixer mode, automatic deck selection is available only on the following models when [External] is selected.

  • How can I start using the video function?

    To use the video function, access [Preferences] > [Extensions]category > [Video]tab, then checkmark the [Enable Video Function] checkbox.

    However, as functions are limited in the Free plan, caution messages will be displayed on the external monitor.

  • After I updated rekordbox to ver. 7, [?☆] is displayed on a track list.

    On rekordbox ver. 7, [Collection Radar/Streaming Radar] is available under [Track Suggestion] as a new recommendation function.
    The [?☆] icon is displayed for tracks that do not have the analysis data required for recommendation.

    Tracks with the [?☆] icon displayed cannot be recommended as a base track with [Collection Radar/Streaming Radar].
    Even if tracks with analysis data are being used as base tracks, tracks without analysis data are not recommended.

    To fix the problem, right-click the track and select [Add New Analysis Data] from the context menu.

  • How do I drag and drop tracks in [Collections] to add them to the playlist?

    Display the sub browser window and drag and drop tracks you want to add to the playlist from [Collections] to add them.

    *Vertical display and horizontal display is available as display methods for the sub browser window.

    Selecting the "vertical" displays the browser window and sub browser window lined up next to each other vertically.

    Selecting the "horizontal" displays the browser window and sub browser window lined up next to each other horizontally.

  • After I enter my email address to the AlphaTheta account entry window and press “OK”, [Unknown error.] is displayed.

    Possible reasons are as follows.

    • The email address was entered incorrectly.
    • The member you are inviting to share the playlist is not subscribed to the Professional plan.
    • The maximum number of shares (100 shares) has been reached or will be exceeded for the playlist.

  • The streaming service tracks I added to the collaborative playlist are not being displayed on the shared members’ collaborative playlists.

    The shared members need to log in to the streaming service for the streaming service tracks to be displayed.

    The shared members must be subscribed as well as logged in to the same streaming service.

  • My collaborative playlist reverted back into a normal playlist on its own.

    Possible reasons are as follows.

    • The owner has deleted the collaborative playlist.
    • Changes have not been made to the collaborative playlist for 30 days.
    • Your Professional plan was canceled or deactivated.
    • Your Professional plan subscription has expired.

  • The playlist tracks shared by the owner go missing on the collaborative playlist.

    Collaborative playlists cannot be used to share track data (music files).
    Please use a different method to receive the tracks from the owner and follow the steps below to locate the missing tracks.

    1. Receive the tracks and save the music files in any folder (it is recommended to create a new folder).
    2. Select [Preferences] > [Advanced]category > [Database]tab and add a checkmark to the [Specified user folders] checkbox of  the [Auto Relocate Search Folders].
      Add the folder from Step 1.
      Remove the checkmark from all the items except for [Specified user folders].
    3. Open the [File] menu and select [Display All Missing Files].
      Check that the collaborative playlist tracks are displayed in the [Missing File Manager] window.
      *If tracks other than the collaborative playlist tracks are displayed, add the folder those tracks are saved in using the points in Step 2.
    4. In the [Missing File Manager] window, click the [Auto Relocate] button.

  • Can I use a collaborative playlist to share track data (music files)?

    Here are the differences depending on the plan you chose to use.

    • Free or Core plan

    You can upload and sync up to 10 tracks that can be added to the [Trial playlist - Cloud Library Sync], which is a playlist for sync.
    Please note: The entire library will not be synchronized.

    • Creative plan

    The entire library can be synchronized.
    You can select individual playlists and tracks to then upload them to the cloud.
    This will depend on the Dropbox plan you're using for storage capacity when uploading files.

    • Professional plan

    The entire library can be synchronized.

    There are 3 possible causes to this issue, as follows:

    1. Cloud Sync is incomplete
      If the Cloud Library Sync between rekordbox and the library in the cloud hasn't finished, the track won't be displayed on the browse screen. Wait for the sync to finish, then the track should display.
    2. The track hasn't been uploaded to Dropbox
      Only tracks that you've uploaded to Dropbox will be displayed on the browse screen.
      If the upload isn't complete, the track can't be loaded.
      Upload the tracks you want to use to Dropbox beforehand, then use them once the upload is complete.
      You can upload with rekordbox.
    3. Impact of Dropbox maintenance or failure
      When Dropbox is undergoing maintenance or experiencing problems, tracks can't be loaded. Try again when Dropbox is back online.

  • The volume sometimes drops suddenly when I’m playing iTunes music files on rekordbox.

    We have received reports that there are sudden changes to the volume when music files (AAC) purchased from the iTunes Store are played on rekordbox.

    This can be improved by converting the music files to an uncompressed file format (AIFF, WAV).

  • When Auto Upload is enabled, some of the tracks in some of my playlists won’t upload to the cloud. Why not?

    If the tracks in your playlist aren't on the PC/Mac or mobile device you're using, they won't upload to the cloud.

    Instead, upload the track from the PC/Mac or mobile device where it's stored.
