  • How many computers can be activated with one license?

    You can activate Plus Pack in up to two computers with one license.

    If you deactivate Plus Pack you once activated, then you can activate it in other computers.

    Note:  The same Pioneer DJ account is required for the two computers if you activate Plus Pack with one license.

  • My iTunes Library does not display.

    To display your iTunes library on rekordbox, first double-click [iTunes] in the Tree view to open the groups, then select [All Audio]. For an iTunes playlist, open [Playlists] and select the playlist with which to display the library.

    *Tracks are not displayed when only [iTunes] is selected.

     

    The settings will vary depending on the computer being used.

    • For Mac

    In the latest version of  rekordbox, no settings are required.

    • For Windows

    The iTunes Library may not be always created when using iTunes12.2 and later.

    From iTunes, Preferences > Advanced, tick the box of “Share iTunes Library XML with other applications” to enable this function.

    Then, please reboot both iTunes and rekordbox after shutting them down.

    If the playlist folders are not properly shown, please update rekordbox to Ver. 3.2.2 or later to solve the issue.

    The iTunes Library file may not be specified properly. To designate the proper iTunes Library xml file, go to [Preferences] > [Advanced] > [Database] and select the xml file for the iTunes Library.

    With rekordbox settings files transferred from a different computer, the iTunes Library file may be changed from iTunesMusicLibrary.xml to iTunesLibrary.xml.

    If this is the case with your file, change the above setting to iTunesLibrary.xml.

  • I cannot hear the sound.

    Open [Preferences] > [Audio] > [Audio] to check whether your audio device is selected.

    In the PERFORMANCE mode, check the following settings.

    • [Preferences] > [Audio] > [Mixer Mode]
    • [Preferences] > [Audio] > [Output channels]

    See if these settings are set as you wish.

  • I cannot record audio in PERFORMANCE mode.

    In PERFORMANCE mode, you can record Master Out of rekordbox or input audio from Pioneer DJ products.(When you are to record input audio from equipment other than Pioneer DJ products, use recording function in EXPORT mode.)

    Check the followings

    In case no equipment is connected or equipment other than Pioneer DJ products is connected:

    Check the following two settings.

    Open [Preferences] > [Audio] > [Audio] and check if a computer built-in speaker is selected.

    Open [Preferences] > [Audio] > [Mixer Mode] and check if "Internal" is selected.

    In case a Pioneer DJ product is connected:

    Open [Preferences] > [Audio] > [Input channels] > [Input Record]. Check if the channel of the connected Pioneer DJ product is selected correctly.

    If you use DJM, DDJ-SZ, DDJ-RZ, DDJ-RZX, DDJ-REV7 as external equipment, click the [Setting Utility] button to open the Setting Utility window. Select the [MIXER OUTPUT] tub and select mixer audio output for each channel.

    • Check if the volume of recording is zero or not.

    Adjust the volume by turning the level knob while checking the level meters.

    • Check if the disk has enough space to save the recorded files.
    • Check if destination of the recorded files is correctly selected.

    Open [Preferences] > [Controller] > [Recordings] > [Recordings] and check [Location of Files].

  • I cannot use XDJ-RX with rekordbox dj.

    • If you want to use XDJ-RX with rekordbox dj, you need to update the firmware version to 2.10 or later.

    • When the XDJ-RX is connected to rekordbox, you have to set the [MIXER MODE] to [MIDI CONTROL] on the [UTILITY] screen.

  • When using PC MASTER OUT, the volume does not change even if you turn the MASTER LEVEL knob on the controller.

    Please adjust the volume of the computer built-in speaker at the computer's volume setting.

  • Audio of rekordbox dj Deck 2 is coming from the channel 1 of the XDJ-RX.

    When the XDJ-RX is connected to rekordbox, you have to set the [MIXER MODE] to [MIDI CONTROL] on the [UTILITY] screen.

  • I cannot record audio in EXPORT mode.

    In EXPORT mode, only audio input from external equipment can be recorded. (To record of Master Out of rekordbox, please use recording function in PERFORMANCE mode.)

    Please check the followings:

    • Is the version of rekordbox 4.2.1 or later?
    • Is your computer connected to external equipment via a USB cable?
    • Open [Preferences] > [Audio] > [Audio] to check external equipment is selected from the menu.
    • Open [Preferences] > [Audio] > [Input channels] > [Input Record] to check external equipment is selected correctly from the menu.

    When using a DJM as external equipment, click the [Setting Utility] to open the Setting Utility window. Select [MIXER OUTPUT] tab and select mixer audio output for each channel.

    • Check if the volume of recording is zero or not?
      Adjust the volume by turning the level knob while checking the level meters.

    • Check if the disk has enough space to save the recorded files.
    • Check if destination of the recorded files is correctly selected.

  • The sound of the recorded file is distorted.

    The volume level of recording may be too high.

    Turn the recording level knob. Adjust the recording level maximum to the level in which not all the meters hitting red.

    Record again.

  • rekordbox closes soon after the application is launched.

    If you use Windows as the operating system, there might be a problem with its driver for display adapter.

    Check if your driver software is the latest version.

    Example of how you check and update the driver software

    1. Click the Start button and [Control Panel] to open [Device Manager].
    2. Click the [>] button to the left of [display Adapter].
    3. Right-click the name of the display adapter you use (e.g. Intel(R) HD Graphics) and click [Update driver software] in the menu.
    4. Click [Automatically detect the latest version of driver software].

    If you still have the problem after trying the process listed above, go to the following website and check and update the latest version of the driver software.

  • The rekordbox [LINK] button does not show up when I connect my computer to the CDJ/XDJ with a LAN cable.

    PRO DJ LINK works when rekordbox is in EXPORT mode. (It does not work in PERFORMANCE mode.)

    1. Depending on the security software used on your computer and its operating system settings, it may not be possible to establish a PRO DJ LINK connection. If this occurs, it will be necessary to check your settings for the following four programs to ensure that they are not blocked:
      • rekordbox program file
      • ProDJ Link System Manager
      • ProDJ Link NFS Server
      • edb_streamd

      check "Windows Firewall settings"

    2. PRO DJ LINK may fail to run properly if your computer is connected to multiple networks as the networks (wired LAN, wireless, etc.) may interfere with each other. If this is the case with your computer, you can resolve the issue by disabling networks not used by PRO DJ LINK or set the network precedence properly to favor the network used.
    3. PRO DJ LINK may fail to run properly if the Port used by rekordbox for PRO DJ LINK is being used by another application (NSF server, etc.). To resolve this issue, close the application or service being used and then try again.
    4. PRO DJ LINK may fail to run properly if Internet Sharing is enabled. If this is the case, disable Internet Sharing and then try again.
    5. When there is a router connected on the network used by PRO DJ LINK, the network may fail to be established properly depending on the order in which connected devices are powered on. Either first turn on the power to the router and then connect the device, or disconnect the router.

  • rekordbox video works slowly. What should I do?

    First, check System Requirements for rekordbox video.

    Then, check the followings:

    • Close other applications than rekordbox.
    • If your computer limits the CPU due to power saving option, please cancel the power saving option.
    • Open [Preferences] > [Video] > [Video Quality] and select [Low].

    The resolution of video will become lower and rekordbox video will work better.

    • For DDJ-RZX users, open [Preferences] > [Controller] > [Others] > [Touch Display] and untick the checkbox of [Display video on the touch screen when pressing the VIEW button].

    Video will not be shown on the DDJ-RZX display and rekordbox video will work better.

    If the video will not be shown on both decks of the DDJ-RZX even when you tick the checkbox of [Display video on the touch screen when pressing the VIEW button] in [Touch Display], please select EXPORT mode and then PERFORMANCE mode again. Or, please disconnect the DDJ-RZX and connect it again.

  • I cannot turn on the video function at [Preferences] > [Video].

    When you select [Low Speed] at [Preferences] > [View] > [Waveform] > [Waveform Drawing Rate], the video function will be disabled and [Enable Video Function] will be grayed out at [Preferences] > [View].

    If [Low Speed] is selected at [View] > [Waveform] > [Waveform Drawing Rate],

    [Enable Video Function] at [Preferences] > [View] is grayed out.

    Follow the steps below to enable the video function.

    1. Open [Preferences] > [View] > [Waveform] > [Waveform Drawing Rate] and select [High Speed] or [Medium Speed].
    2. Open [Preferences] > [Video] and tick [Enable Video Function].
    3. Relaunch rekordbox.
    4. You can use the video function now.

  • (Windows only) While installing or updating the Audio Driver, “Error opening file for writing” popped up.

    If “Error opening file for writing” popped up while installing or updating the Audio Driver,

    close rekordbox, then click the [Retry] button to carry out the installation.

  • rekordbox froze when I canceled DJM-250MK2 firmware update. (No audio output when I canceled DJM-250MK2 firmware update.)

    Click [Cancel] or [Close] on Updater Program launched from rekordbox.

    Then the DJM-250MK2 returns to update mode*.

    * MASTER LEVEL METER of the DJM-250MK2 blinks.

    You can solve the issue by launching the DJM-250MK2 in normal mode.

    Please follow the steps below.

    Steps

    • Close rekordbox.

    For Windows

      1. Press [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Delete] and click [Task Manager].
      2. Click [Processes] tub in Task Manager.
      3. Window10 and 8.1: Click "rekordbox program file" and [End task].
        rekordbox closes.
      4. Click [X] button in Task Manager to close it.

    For Mac

      1. Press [command]+[option]+[esc] and click "rekordbox" in "Force Quit Applications" window.
      2. Click [Force Quit].
      3. ["Do you want to force "rekordbox" to quit?] message appears. Click [Force Quit].
        rekordbox closes.
      4. Click [X] button in "Force Quit Applications" window to close it.
    • Turn off the power of the DJM-250MK2, then turn it on again.
    • Launch rekordbox.

  • Enlarged waveforms move at a different speed in each deck.

    Follow the steps below to match the speed of the enlarged waveform to the tempo.

    • Open [Preferences] > [DVS] tab and tick [The beat position intervals of the enlarged waveform are changed.]

    When using rekordbox ver. 5.0.1 or lower.

    When DVS is enabled, the speed of an enlarged waveform is corresponded to the BPM of its track.

    *DVS is enabled when [INT]/[REL]/[ABS] icon in a red frame below is shown.

  • A track in the iTunes track list has a mark with a diagonal line on it and cannot be played.

    The track’s file is not stored on your computer and cannot be played on rekordbox.

    Either the track was not downloaded following purchase, or it is stored to the cloud.

    Download the track’s file on iTunes, and then restart rekordbox.

  • Tracks located in iTunes do not appear in rekordbox.

    It may not be possible to play these tracks on rekordbox.

    The tracks may be copyright protected tracks (.m4p format) obtained from a service such as the iTunes Store or Apple Music, or they may be in a file format not supported by rekordbox.

    *Only tracks that can be played on rekordbox are shown.

    For example, even if there are 100 tracks on iTunes, if only 50 of them can be played on rekordbox, only those 50 tracks will be shown.

  • Audio skips or drops out when using BEAT FX on DDJ-1000.

    We identified an issue causing audio to skip or drop out when Beat FX are applied to some channels such as Mic and Master.

    Please update the DDJ-1000 firmware to ver. 1.05 or later and rekordbox to ver. 5.3.0 or later.

  • When using rekordbox on Windows, some playback such as YouTube works incorrectly.

    Open [Control Panel] > [Hardware and Sound] > [Sound].

    Sometimes normal playback disabled when the coneccted DJ equipment is selected as Default Device.

    In this case, select Speakers, etc. as Default Device.

    Please follow the steps below.

    1. Close rekordbox.
    2. Open [Control Panel] > [Hardware and Sound] > [Sound].
    3. Click the [Playback] tab in the [Sounds] panel to check what is selected as Default Device with a green check mark.
    4. Click a built-in device in your computer other than the connected DJ equipment and click [Set Default].

      The selected device is now the Default Device and the green tick icon is displayed on it.
    5. Close the Sound dialog box and the Control Panel window.
    6. Relaunch rekordbox.

  • When PC MASTER OUT is set to ON, track playback stops frequently, and rekordbox does not operate smoothly.

    The cause of the issue may be the Windows internal sound device settings.

  • When I control rekordbox dj using CDJs, enlarged waveforms, Hot Cue points and Quantize Beat Value are not displayed.

  • Automatic separation of recording (to detect silence between tracks to automatically create a separate file for each one) doesn’t work correctly.

    Adjust settings of automatic separation as follows:

    1.  Adjust volume level of recording on the REC panel.
      Turn the recording level knob. Adjust the recording level to the location not all the meters are hitting red.
    2. Adjust the following settings in Preferences.
      • EXPORT mode

    [Preferences] > [Advanced] > [Recordings] > [Recordings]

      • PERFORMANCE mode

    [Preferences] > [Controller] > [Recordings] > [Recordings]

      • If the file is not separated:

    [Silence Level Threshold]

    Move the slider to right to increase the threshold.

    [When silence continues for]

    Click the drop-down menu to decrease the length of silence.

      • If the file is separated beyond necessity:

    [Silence Level Threshold]

    Move the slider to left to decrease the threshold.

    [When silence continues for]

  • When I imported recorded files to iTunes, the Tag information I entered when recording was not reflected to iTunes.

    The artist name, album title and track title information you entered when recording is written in the recorded file and in your rekordbox library but not in your iTunes library.

  • Suddenly rekordbox dj stopped working even though I activate it with my license key.

    The license may become invalid if you make changes to the startup disk of your computer.

    • Creating / Deleting partitions.
    • Changing / Repairing / Replacing your startup disk.
    • Restoring system or user data from a backup drive such as Time Machine.

    If you need to make changes to your startup disk, please deactivate your license first, then activate it again after making changes.

  • Track is playing at high speed. I cannot hear the sound.

    Open [Preferences] > [Audio] > [Audio] to check whether your audio device is selected.

    If the device you use is set, please reset the device. (i.e., select different audio device and then reset the audio device you use again.)

  • I am using DJM-2000NXS for audio device but no information is displayed at the input channel and I cannot record.

    When inputting audio from DJM-2000NXS, the following setting is required.

    1. Input/output setting for DJM-2000NXS
    2. For Mac, creation of Audio MIDI Aggregate Device

    Please switch the setting as follows when DJM-2000NXS is connected to your computer with the USB cable.

     

    1.Input/output setting for DJM-2000NXS (Win/Mac)

    Step1. Open [Preferences] > [Audio] > [Audio] and confirm the setting is as follows:

    For Windows: [PIONEER DJM-2000 ASIO]
    For Mac: [DJM-2000 output]

    Step2. Open [Preferences] > [Audio] > [Input channels] and click [Setting Utility]

    Step3. Switch [Input/Output] at [DJM-2000 Setting Utility] depending on your computer’s operating system (OS) as follows:

    For Windows: ASIO 3 outputs 1 input 16 bits DirectX 1 output 1 input
    For Mac: 6-channel output 2-channel input 16 bits
    Note: When the input/output setting is switched as described above, CH4 of DJM-2000NXS cannot be used for output.

    2.Creation of Audio MIDI Aggregate Device (For Mac)

    Step1. From the Finder, open [Application] > [Utility] and click [Audio MIDI Setting].

    Step2. Click the [+] button at the left bottom in the [Audio Devices] window and select [Create Aggregate Device].

    Step3. Tick the checkbox of [DJM-2000] and [DJM-2000 output].

    Step4. Change the name from [Aggregate Device] to [DJM-2000_input/output]. Enter the name exactly as is.(Caution: the device will not work if the name is entered differently).

    Step5. Open [Preferences] > [Audio] > [Audio] and select [DJM-2000_input/output].

  • An error about MFReadWrite.dll being missing is displayed and rekorbox does not start up.

    The “N” and "KN" versions of Windows do not include Windows Media Player and related technologies, each of which is multimedia software that rekordbox 3.0 needs to run with.

    Please download "Media Feature Pack" from the Microsoft website applicable to your Windows version from below and install it.

  • Synchronization with a device persistently continues and the spinning busy cursor appears.

    Depending on the number of playlists to be synchronized and the tracks included in them, the amount of time that rekordbox requires to complete the synchronization process may be different.

    If you have many playlists and tracks, a computer may display the busy cursor depending on the computer spec.

    Please try reducing the number of playlists and tracks in a sync process.

  • I cannot play back audio tracks from rekordbox on the DJ player via a link connection.

    PRO DJ LINK works when rekordbox is in EXPORT mode.  (It does not work in PERFORMANCE mode.)

    1. If the [UNLOCK/LOCK] option on the DJ Player is set to [LOCK], you will not be able to load tracks to the DJ Player while a song is playing (for the CDJ-2000 only). You will also not be able to drag tracks if you load them at the same exact time as a Cue is being called up on the DJ Player.
    2. Depending on the security software used on your computer and its operating system settings, it may not be possible to establish a PRO DJ LINK connection. If this occurs, it will be necessary to check your settings for the following four programs to ensure that they are not blocked:
      • rekordbox program file
      • ProDJ Link System Manager
      • ProDJ Link NFS Server
      • edb_streamd

      check "Windows Firewall settings"

    3. For Mac OS X, note that music files with long file paths cannot be played back using PRO DJ LINK. Make sure to save music files to a save location with a file path no longer than 256 characters.
    4. Music files transferred from Windows XP to Windows Vista/7/8 and saved to My Music may become unable to be played back using PRO DJ LINK. If this appears to be the case with your files, rename the folder where the music files are saved and then use Relocate to reassign the location once the "Media is Missing" message pops up to reset it.
    5. Note that [Device] song tracks cannot be loaded onto the CDJ using PRO DJ LINK. To play such song tracks, connect the device directly to the DJ Player instead.

  • Files which I imported from my USB device previously now display “File is Missing,” and cannot be played.

    • When a track has been imported from an external device, rekordbox may not find the track if the device’s drive letter (“E:” for example) differs from the drive letter at the time the track was imported. Change the drive letter so it is the same as when the track was imported.
    • With iTunes, if the “Keep iTunes Media folder organized” setting was enabled, when titles or other types of track information is changed in iTunes, iTunes changes the track’s location, file name, etc. To import the same tracks on iTunes and rekordbox, disable the “Keep iTunes Media folder organized” setting.
