  • How can I connect my mobile device to the PRO DJ LINK network?

    Note: rekordbox for iOS (ver. 4) does not support (USB Type-A) wired connection.

     

    - Wired connection (USB Type-B)

    Connect DJ players (CDJ/XDJ) and a DJ mixer to a switching hub or a router with a built-in switching hub.

    Connect your mobile device to a USB Type-B port on either of the DJ players (CDJ/XDJ).

    *Turn off Wi-Fi on your mobile device to change to a wired connection.

    Example

    (1) Switching hub or router with built-in switching hub

    (2) LAN cable

    (3) Lightning to USB A adapter

    (4) USB cable (A-B)

    *(1) and (2) are not required for connection with All-in-one-DJ-System.

    *Behaviors may differ from expectations depending on external devices, cables, and adapters.

     

    - Wired connection (USB Type-C)

    Connect DJ players (CDJ/XDJ) and a DJ mixer to a switching hub or a router with a built-in switching hub.

    Connect your mobile device to a USB Type-C port on either of the DJ players (CDJ/XDJ).

    *Turn off Wi-Fi on your mobile device to change to a wired connection.

    Example

    Connect DJ players (CDJ/XDJ) and a DJ mixer to a switching hub or a router with a built-in switching hub.

    Connect your mobile device to a router or LAN hub.

    *Turn off Wi-Fi on your mobile device to change to a wired connection.

    Connect your mobile device to the wireless router.

  • I’m DJing on equipment that’s connected via Wi-Fi to rekordbox for iOS. Can I make/receive phone calls or use other applications on my mobile device at the same time?

    If you make/receive a phone call or use another application while DJing using rekordbox for iOS, rekordbox for iOS will continue running in the background. However, applications running in the background may stop or pause depending on iOS control. If this happens, you'll need to reconnect rekordbox for iOS.

  • When I connect to a CDJ/XDJ/DJM via a wired connection and tap [Connect to CDJ/XDJ/DJM], the message “Turn Wi-Fi ON and connect to the Wi-Fi router connected to CDJ/XDJ/DJM via LAN cable.” appears. What does this mean?

    It takes about 20 seconds to start communication after connecting the CDJ/XDJ/DJM to your mobile device via a wired connection.
    Wait a while after connecting, then tap [Connect to CDJ/XDJ/DJM].

  • How do I connect to XDJ-AN?

    1. Connect the included AC adapter to the USB port (for power supply) on XDJ-AN.
    2. Connect the mobile device to the USB port (for device connection) of XDJ-AN using a USB cable.
    3. Connect external speakers to the [MASTER] output terminal of XDJ-AN.

    Use a USB cable certified to the appropriate standard.

  • I cannot control rekordbox for iOS even after connecting a Lightning connector iPhone/iPad to the XDJ-AN.

    If you are using an iPhone/iPad with a Lightning connector, you will need the "Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter".

    Please connect and use the device as shown in the diagram below.

  • I connected the XDJ-AN to rekordbox for iOS using a USB cable, but I can’t control the app. Why not?

    The XDJ-AN may not be connected properly.

    Please reconnect by following the steps below.

    1. Touch the rekordbox logo button in rekordbox for iOS and select [Tutorial].
    2. Follow the instructions in the tutorial to connect your iPhone or iPad to the XDJ-AN using a USB Type-C cable.
      *Connect to the USB port on the back of the XDJ-AN marked with the smartphone and PC icons.
      *If your iPhone or iPad has a Lightning connector, use the Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter to connect.
    3. Tap the [SOURCE] button at the top of the XDJ-AN screen, then tap [SOFTWARE CONTROL].
    4. Tap the [DECK 1] and [DECK 2] buttons in the lower-right corner of the XDJ-AN screen.
    5. Once an XDJ-AN connection screen appears on your iPhone or iPad, the connection is complete.

  • The waveforms and information for tracks loaded via a mobile device aren’t displayed on the XDJ-AN. Why not?

    When you connect rekordbox for iOS to the XDJ-AN via a USB cable, some information – such as track details, playlists, and waveforms – won't be displayed on the XDJ-AN.

    You can view waveforms on the rekordbox for iOS screen instead.

    However, if you connect the XDJ-AN and a mobile device to the same Wi-Fi network, hold the mobile device in portrait orientation and tap the [Connect to CDJ/XDJ/DJM] button on the rekordbox for iOS/Android screen to establish a connection, you can view track information, playlists, and track waveforms on the XDJ-AN.
    *Note: Tracks from streaming services are not available when connecting via Wi-Fi.

  • Can I use rekordbox for iOS and DJM-REC at the same time using the iPad’s Split View feature?

    Please don't use Split View on your iPad as it will cause the following issues.

    • DJM-REC recording stops abruptly
    • You won't be able to control rekordbox for iOS from the XDJ-AN

  • Are there any precautions I should take when using rekordbox for iOS and DJM-REC together with the XDJ-AN?

    To use rekordbox for iOS and DJM-REC at the same time, you need to be careful about the order in which you launch the apps.

    First, launch DJM-REC, then launch rekordbox for iOS.

    Note: If you launch the apps in the reverse order, playback will stop in rekordbox for iOS.

  • How do I connect to DDJ-GRV6?

    1. Connect a USB power supply adapter or mobile battery to the USB port (for power supply) on DDJ-GRV6.
    2. Connect the mobile device to the USB port (for device connection) of DDJ-GRV6 using a USB cable.
      If power can be supplied from your mobile device, Step 1 can be skipped.
    3. Connect external speakers to the MASTER output terminal of DDJ-GRV6.
      *If you are using an iPhone or iPad, you can enjoy DJ playing easily with low latency using the following method, even without external speakers.

    Additionally, the following operations on the DJ controller will be restricted:

      • Previews (cue) cannot be listened through headphones.
      • Audio output cannot be adjusted by turning the MASTER LEVEL knob.
      • Audio from a microphone connected to the DJ controller will not be output from the mobile device.
    • When using the unit with a USB power adapter or mobile battery connected to the USB port (for power supply), make sure it has a maximum voltage of 24V or less and DC 9V 3A.
    • Use a USB cable certified to the appropriate standard.
    • Use a mobile battery without a power-saving function.

  • How do I connect to DDJ-FLX4?

    You can connect to DDJ-FLX4 using a USB cable or Bluetooth.
    For details, refer to the Instruction Manual of DDJ-FLX4.

    • To connect using a USB cable
    1. Connect a USB power supply adapter or mobile battery to the USB port (for power supply) on DDJ-FLX4.
    2. Connect the mobile device to the USB port (for device connection) of DDJ-FLX4 using a USB cable.
    3. Connect external speakers to the MASTER output terminal of DDJ-FLX4.
      *If you are using an iPhone or iPad, you can enjoy DJ playing easily with low latency using the following method, even without external speakers.

    In rekordbox for iOS, enable "Output audio from the iPhone speaker only" or "Output audio from the iPad speaker only" under [Settings] > [Audio].
    This allows Master audio to be output from your mobile device's speaker.
    However, Master audio will not be output from the DJ controller.

    Additionally, the following operations on the DJ controller will be restricted:

      • Previews (cue) cannot be listened through headphones.
      • Audio output cannot be adjusted by turning the MASTER LEVEL knob.

  • What is rekordbox CloudDirectPlay?

    rekordbox CloudDirectPlay enables you to play tracks from the latest version of your rekordbox library – directly from the cloud – when using Compatible DJ equipment.

    Refer to the "rekordbox CloudDirectPlay Operation Guide" on the Manuals page for how to use rekordbox CloudDirectPlay.

    Note: Free plan and Core plan users can use up to 20 tracks that can be added to the [Trial playlist - Cloud Library Sync].

  • How do I connect to DDJ-200?

    You can connect to DDJ-200 using a USB cable or Bluetooth.

  • I’ve started rekordbox CloudDirectPlay, however sometimes tracks are not appearing on the browse screen and I can’t seem to load tracks. Why is this?

    There are possible causes as follows.

    • Cloud Sync is incomplete
      If the Cloud Library Sync between rekordbox and the library in the cloud hasn't finished, the track won't be displayed on the browse screen. Wait for the sync to finish, then the track should display.
    • The music file has not been uploaded to cloud storage (Dropbox or Google Drive)
      Only music files that you have uploaded to cloud storage will be displayed on the Browse screen.
      If the upload is not complete, the music file cannot be loaded.
      Upload the music files you want to use to cloud storage beforehand, then use them once the upload is complete.
      You can upload with rekordbox.
    • Impact of cloud storage maintenance or failure
      When cloud storage is undergoing maintenance or experiencing problems, music files cannot be loaded.Try again when the cloud storage is back online.

  • Can I update the DJ controller firmware on rekordbox for iOS?

    The DJ controller firmware can be updated by following one of the methods below:

    • When rekordbox for iOS and the DJ controller are connected, you are notified if there is new firmware available. If an update needs to be performed, perform the update.
    • With rekordbox for iOS and the DJ controller connected, access [Settings] > [DJ Controller Device Name] > [Firmware Update] and run the update.

    *The method that can be used to connect rekordbox for iOS and the DJ controller to update the firmware varies depending on the DJ controller.
    *When updating the firmware, connect your mobile device to a power supply or ensure your mobile device is sufficiently charged before starting the update.
