Which features can I use in Lite Mode?

What audio formats are supported for recording?

Supported options:

WAV 44.1kHz
WAV 48kHz
AAC 64kbps
AAC 128kbps
AAC 192kbps
AAC 256kbps
AAC 320kbps

Without an in-app subscription: AAC 64kbps only.
Subscribers have access to all supported audio formats.
The audio format is not changed automatically, so please make sure to set the preferred format before recording.
You can change the audio format from [Settings] > [Recording] > [Sound Quality].

*When using WAV format, the maximum recording time per session is approximately 6 hours.

*When using AAC format, the recording time is unlimited.

Can I record audio from a microphone connected to the DJ controller?

Yes. You can record audio when connected to the DDJ-FLX4.

Select [Settings] > [DDJ-FLX4] > [Microphone Input], then [Effect mode].

How do I upload the recorded files?

Follow the steps below to upload the recordings:

Tap the rekordbox button at the top of the screen to open [Menu]
Tap [Recording List] and select the recording you want to upload
Select Mixcloud or SoundCloud as the upload destination
Log in to Mixcloud or SoundCloud

How do I use the recording feature?

Tap the rekordbox button at the top of the screen to open [Menu], then tap the [Recording] button to start recording.

You can view your recordings in [Recording List] in [Menu].

The following actions are available in [Recording List]:

What is the recording feature?

The recording feature allows you to save your DJ performance on rekordbox for iOS/Android as recordings in WAV or AAC format.

This feature can also be used while connected to a supported DJ controller.

With an in-app subscription, you can enjoy unlimited high-quality audio recording. (If you do not have an in-app subscription, recording is limited to 30min/week.)

The scrollbar does not respond when touched.

In rekordbox for Android, you cannot operate by touching the scrollbar.

What audio format can be played on rekordbox for iOS/Android?

The same as rekordbox for Mac/Windows.

However, rekordbox for iOS/Android has the following limitations.

Video files can't be played. However, if the extension is [.mp4], the video file may be playable.
AAC, ALAC, AIFF, and FLAC tracks may not be displayed on the import screen depending on the Android device.

In Lite mode, can I turn off the light animation that spreads around the jog wheel?

Yes.

Open [Settings], select [General], and turn off [Jog Ring Animation].

Can I DJ using only rekordbox for Android?

From rekordbox for Android (ver. 4), DJ play is enabled by rotating the mobile device sideways in addition to music management.

Additionally, DJ play is enabled by connecting the supported DJ controller.

You can also download the tracks to CDJ/XDJ by connecting mobile device to CDJ/XDJ with PRO DJ LINK as always.

Why do I have to log in?

We ask you to log in with your AlphaTheta account in order to do the following features.

Play DJ with DJ controller (e.g. DDJ-FLX2, DDJ-GRV6, DDJ-FLX4)
Synchronize your library with Cloud Library Sync
Seamless track management between multiple devices is possible using the cloud.
Note: Free and Core plans are limited to 20 tracks.
Synchronize your library with rekordbox for Mac/Windows
You can sync your library with a PC/Mac connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
rekordbox CloudDirectPlay
You can DJ on compatible DJ equipment using tracks synced on Cloud Library Sync.
You can use the tracks of each streaming service by logging in to TIDAL and Apple Music.

In addition, logging in allow us to collect feedback and information to improve our products.

Can I use a library from an earlier version of rekordbox for Android with rekordbox for Android (ver. 4)?

Libraries from earlier versions of rekordbox for Android can't be used with rekordbox for Android (ver. 4).
If you're using a PC/Mac, you can convert the library from a version of rekordbox for Mac/Windows earlier than ver. 6 to use with rekordbox for Mac/Windows (ver. 6).
Then you can sync it with rekordbox for Android (ver. 4).

There is no response even after I connect the DJ controller and my mobile device with a USB cable.

Establish a connection via Bluetooth.
Some DJ controllers and Android devices with USB micro B terminals will not communicate even if connected via USB.
