About rekordbox 5

Will rekordbox ver. 5 still be supported and updated?
All support services for rekordbox ver. 5 will end at the end of April 2025.
Technical support for rekordbox ver. 5 has ended in February 2022.There are no scheduled terminations for functions and services following the end of this support service.
Currently, the following uses and controls can be performed in the same way as before.- Using EXPORT mode
- Continue use of the license key activated on the current rekordbox ver. 5
- Deactivating the license key activated on rekordbox ver. 5
- Activating the license key on another PC/Mac with the same account (total of 2)
- Newly activating a license key currently not in use
- Using subscriptions for rekordbox ver. 5
*However, after the support service ends, operation of rekordbox ver. 5 as well as the above will not be guaranteed. It may not operate properly depending on your use environment.
In the future, provision of all rekordbox ver. 5 functions may end.
We recommend switching to the latest rekordbox ver. 7 as soon as possible. See here for future rekordbox ver. 7 uses.End of support service content
- Product support for application updates (bug fixes/addition of supported models/addition of supported OS, etc.).
- Support for inquiries regarding rekordbox ver. 5
*We will continue to provide support for switching procedures to rekordbox ver. 7 (or rekordbox ver. 6).

I’ve used ver. 5 with the license key until now. Do I need a subscription to use ver. 7?
If using a Hardware Unlock device
No additional subscription necessary.
You have access to basic DJ functions, recording, DVS functions, etc. on the Free plan while you are connected to the equipment.
The available functions vary by equipment. Refer to here for details.
*Compatible DJ equipment vary for ver. 7 and ver. 6. For compatible DJ equipment for ver. 6, refer to here.If using products other than the Hardware Unlock device
If using (the device) PERFORMANCE mode for ver. 7, a subscription to a plan above Core plan is required. Refer to here for plans.

I’ve installed rekordbox ver. 6. Can I use rekordbox ver. 5 on the same computer? /Can I use rekordbox ver. 5 and ver. 6 on the same computer?
You can use rekordbox ver. 5 on the same computer even after installing ver. 6.
However, you can't run ver. 5 and ver. 6 at the same time.
The following restrictions also apply.
- To use selected functions in ver. 5, you'll need the relevant license.
Please note: If you already have a ver. 5 license (purchased or bundled), you can continue to use ver. 5. As of April 2020, it will no longer be possible to purchase a new ver. 5 license key.
- To use selected functions in ver. 6, you'll need to take out the relevant subscription plan. When you run rekordbox ver. 6 for the first time and convert your library from the old version, all information such as cues, beatgrid, and playlists will be copied over. After this, the libraries of ver. 5 and ver. 6 do not sync. So, from then on, imported tracks and information such as cue points in one version won't be reflected in the other version.

rekordbox 5 can be installed to any number of computers free of charge.
A license key may be required depending on how it is used, and which model you are using.
