• About Close Lyric function

  We have decided to close the Lyric function on November 2024.

  Check the following link for changes in subscriptions for each version of rekordbox for Mac/Windows.

• I can’t use the Lyric function.

  The rekordbox for Mac/Windows Lyric function will close on November 30, 2024.

  Payment after rekordbox Lyric closes

  • Creative plan: Will not be canceled automatically. You will be capable of using functions other than Lyric.
  • Professional plan: Will not be canceled automatically. You will be capable of using functions other than Lyric.

  This might occur in the following cases.

  • When the lyrics change to *** in the middle of a track

  In order to fully use the Lyric function, you'll need to subscribe the Creative Plan.

  • The message "Cannot create DirectX/OpenGL interop" appears or the screen stays black

  Your system specifications should meet the requirements for rekordbox.

  Check the System Requirements .

  You should also update your graphics driver to the latest version.

  If the situation does not improve after the update, you may not able to use the Lyric function on your system.

• Can Lyric function display lyrics on all tracks in my library?

  Approximately 2 million songs are supported mainly in English and some in Spanish.

  However, some songs are not supported.

  Therefore, lyrics are not displayed for all songs.

• Does Lyric function exclude inappropriate words and phrases?

  By default, Lyric function has a function to delete inappropriate words and phrases automatically if they are detected.

  However, it is difficult to exclude 100 %, so please check the lyrics beforehand if you are using it in public places.

  Please check the default setting as follows:

  [Preferences] > [Lyric] > [Others] > [Allow display of inappropriate words] is unchecked.

  When you change this setting, please delete lyrics manually and acquire them again through the internet.

  Then, the new setting will be reflected to the lyrics.

• What is Lyric function?

  You can acquire lyrics of tracks from an external service and show them on a screen.

• I find lyrics in the service but cannot acquire on rekordbox. Why?

  To display lyrics, below information is needed:

  • Artist name (mandatory)
  • Title (mandatory)
  • Album title
  • Duration (sec)

  Select a track you can't acquire lyrics and right-click it. Select [Acquire lyrics].

  Make sure that the artist name and title are correct on rekordbox.

  The duration (track length) is sometimes different from the original because of intro-edit, etc. In this case, please blank the duration and acquire lyrics.

• Do I have to download the font data?

  Yes.

  In order to operate the Lyric function properly, it is necessary to download the font data for the Lyric function.

• Can I edit lyrics?

  No.

  You can't edit lyrics on rekordbox.

• Can I make lyrics on my own?

  No.

  You can't upload lyrics to rekordbox by yourself.

• How can I check whether there are lyrics for a track in advance?

  Please search for the lyrics with the following external service.

• Can I display lyrics on external monitor, projector, etc.?

  Yes.

  Please connect your computer to an external monitor using an HDMI cable, etc.

  Note: Video output from compatible controllers to external monitors, etc. is not supported.

• Video playback stops when I use video and lyric at the same time. I select [Preferences] > [Video] > [Output Setting] > [Video Quality] > [High].

  Depending on your system environment, video playback may stop when you select

  [High] for [Video] > [Video Quality] or [Lyric] > [Quality].

  In this case, please select [Middle] or [Low].

• How can I start using the Lyric function?

  To use the Lyric function, access [Prefernces] > [Lyric], then checkmark the [Enable Lyric function] checkbox.

  However, as functions are limited in the Free plan, when the number of characters exceeds the limit, *** is displayed.

• How can I start using the video function?

  To use the video function, access [Preferences] > [Video], then checkmark the [Enable Video Function] checkbox.

  However, as functions are limited in the Free plan, caution messages will be displayed on the external monitor.

• What are video/image file formats supported ?

  Supported file formats are as follows:

  • Video

  Extension: avi, mpg, mp4, m4v, mov, qtz

  Video format Codec: h.264, mpeg-4, mpeg-2

  Resolution: up to 1920 x 1080

  Audio format: LPCM (aiff), aac, mp3

  • Image

  Jpeg, png, gif

• Does rekordbox support video files without audio?

  You cannot only play video without audio.

  You can play such videos in combination with audio files.

• Can I use an external monitor or projector to display video ?

  Yes. Connect an external monitor to your computer using an HDMI cable, etc. (*Video output from a compatible controller to external monitor, etc. is not supported.)

• I cannot select the motion as I like. Selectable motions differ depending on a track. Why?

  This is because time display information of the lyrics data registered in the external service is different depending on a track.

  There are 3 types of lyric data as follows:

  • Lyric (word sync): Each word of lyrics has display time information.
  • Lyric (line sync): Each line of lyrics has display time information.
  • Lyric (no sync): Lyrics that have no display time information.

  You can't change this information from rekordbox.
