rekordbox for Mac/Windows and PRO DJ LINK Bridge now support SoundSwitch
Unlock seamless audio and lighting integration for more immersive performances
AlphaTheta’s DJ software rekordbox for Mac/Windows and synchronization app PRO DJ LINK Bridge now support SoundSwitch, the lighting automation software from inMusic that automatically synchronizes lighting effects in sync with the beats and phrases in music.
Traditionally, lighting production often relied on dedicated human operators or generic effects that weren’t directly synchronized with the music. But with this new integration, DJs using rekordbox for Mac/Windows and SoundSwitch can easily create professional-quality light shows that are fully synced with their performances. And users of supported CDJ and DJM units can take advantage of PRO DJ LINK Bridge synchronization with SoundSwitch for enhanced integration between sound and light. In venues where DJs are responsible for both music and lighting – such as bars, lounges, weddings, corporate events, and small-to-mid-sized clubs – it’s now easier than ever to create immersive experiences, with sound and lighting working together seamlessly.

Create professional light shows with rekordbox and SoundSwitch integration
Until now, integration between rekordbox for Mac/Windows and SoundSwitch relied on tempo synchronization via Ableton Link. With this update, official integration happens at the application level, giving you access to the full feature set of SoundSwitch from within rekordbox. This makes it easier to create custom or automatically generated lighting shows while using your music libraries, playlists, and DJ workflows, delivering a more seamless and synchronized performance experience.
* When using SoundSwitch with rekordbox: All rekordbox-compatible AlphaTheta and Pioneer DJ hardware is supported.
Available features:
- Autoscripted tracks: Have SoundSwitch automatically analyze your rekordbox music library, detecting the key phrases and instrumentation of each song to create a unique lighting show for every track.
- Custom Scripted tracks: Build your own light show from scratch on SoundSwitch. Take full control of individual fixtures and create something completely unique for every moment of a track.
- Autoloops: Trigger beat-synchronized lighting loops prepared in advance within SoundSwitch. These can override scripted tracks, work with unanalyzed tracks, and support streaming services so your performance is never without a light show.
- Static looks: Create and trigger custom lighting scenes on SoundSwitch to highlight key moments, such as a first dance, or create the right atmosphere for different parts of an event.
- Performance integration: All light shows, whether they’re created manually or automatically with SoundSwitch, will play back in sync with your tracks in rekordbox. Integration with faders on compatible DJ equipment means your lighting blends with your performance.
- MIDI support: SoundSwitch supports its own dedicated MIDI hardware as well as third-party units, giving you the ability to use your preferred hardware to trigger and control key elements of SoundSwitch.
Integrate PRO DJ LINK Bridge with SoundSwitch for synchronized sound and lighting experiences
PRO DJ LINK Bridge is an application that provides stable, real-time communication of track information and playback status from professional DJ equipment, such as the CDJ-3000X and DJM-A9, to visual production software controlling video, lighting, and special effects. With the new support for SoundSwitch, you can combine industry-standard DJ equipment with PRO DJ LINK Bridge to deliver light shows that perfectly sync with your DJing.
This also enables small and mid-sized venues – that may not have staff dedicated to operating lights – to automatically generate lighting effects directly from the DJ’s performance. By minimizing setup complexity and workload, it’s much easier for venues to create high-quality visual production.

Support for a wide range of lighting environments
SoundSwitch supports not only professional DMX lighting systems but also consumer smart lighting solutions, such as Philips Hue and Nanoleaf products. And, with support for up to 2 DMX universes (up to 1,024 channels), it’s ideal for everything from home livestreaming setups to club-scale lighting installations. For example, you can start with simple lighting effects using Philips Hue products for livestreaming from home and gradually expand to using professional DMX lighting systems as your events, and venues’ requirements, grow.
* To use SoundSwitch with rekordbox, a rekordbox Creative plan or Professional plan subscription and a separate SoundSwitch license are needed.
* DMX lighting control through SoundSwitch requires a DMX interface (available separately), such as the SoundSwitch Micro DMX Interface or Control One.
