Are there any differences between rekordbox (Mac/Windows) and rekordbox (iOS/Android) concerning the functions that can be used with this unit (the XDJ-AERO)?

rekordbox (Mac/Windows) installed on a computer has functions for exporting music files and playlists to USB devices and mobile devices and for feeding back information to USB devices and mobile devices. This way, large numbers of music files and playlists can be managed on the computer while easily portable USB devices and mobile devices can be connected to this unit (the XDJ-AERO) and used for playback.
rekordbox (iOS/Android) installed on a mobile device also includes a function for browsing and selecting tracks on a USB device connected to this unit's (the XDJ-AERO's) USB device insertion slot.

What are the differences between Pro DJ Link and Link Export?

Pro DJ Link:
By interconnecting Pioneer DJ's DJ units (e.g. CDJ-2000NXS) by LAN cable, rekordbox music files and attribute data can be shared with a DJ mixer or up to four DJ players.

Link Export:
With rekordbox, music files and attribute data can be transferred directly between DJ units (e.g. CDJ-2000NXS, XDJ-AERO) and a computer or mobile device.

  • The XDJ-AERO does not support Pro DJ Link.

Can I load tracks from rekordbox onto two XDJ-AERO units?

No.
rekordbox can only connect to one XDJ-AERO.

Can the CDJ-2000nexus and XDJ-AERO be used simultaneously?

It is not possible for the XDJ-AERO and CDJ-2000nexus to be connected via the same wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) access point and communicate simultaneously with rekordbox.
Connect the XDJ-AERO and CDJ-2000nexus to different networks, then switch the connection (access point) of the computer or mobile device.
Also, when the XDJ-AERO’s wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) setting is changed to the [ACCESS POINT] mode, it is possible to communicate directly with the computer or mobile device without going through the access point.

How are mobile devices and computers connected to the DJ unit by wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) connection displayed on the DJ unit?

Their respective device names are displayed on the DJ unit's display.
For rekordbox (Mac/Windows), the device name is [Export Name] at the settings screen, while for rekordbox (iOS/Android), they are the character strings set for the [Device Name] at "Settings".

How many mobile devices and computers can be connected?

A total of up to four mobile devices or computers can be connected to the XDJ-AERO by wireless LAN (Wi-Fi).
Note that when the XDJ-AERO’s wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) setting is set to the [WLAN CLIENT] mode, up to two computers can be connected by cable to the wireless LAN access point, so in this case, a total of four mobile devices and computers can be connected by cable and/or Wi-Fi.

Is there any possibility that the sound is cut when it is used with XDJ-AERO, because it is using wireless LAN (Wi-Fi)?

XDJ-AERO has a memory buffer to store audio data to minimize the possibility of audio cut. It also has an Emergency Loop function which plays a loop automatically when the wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) connection is lost.

Can rekordbox be operated with the XDJ-AERO?

Cursor operations and loading in rekordbox are possible using the XDJ-AERO's rotary selector and BACK button. For details, refer to the operating instructions.

What are the functions that are effective on the XDJ-AERO with the preset settings preset in rekordbox?

Beat grids adjusted with rekordbox are used for the XDJ-AERO’s Sync function.
Playlists created with rekordbox are used for the Auto Mix function. Also, when the XDJ-AERO’s firmware is updated to Ver. 2.00, a function for using the saved cue/loop points nearest to the beginning of tracks as auto cue points is added.

During a DJ performance with rekordbox (iOS/Android) and a DJ unit connected by wireless LAN (Wi-Fi), communications were cut off when I used the phone or another application on my mobile device.

When rekordbox (iOS/Android) is running and the telephone or another application is used in the foreground, rekordbox (iOS/Android) processing continues in the background. However, applications running in the background may be suspended or stopped due to iOS or Android operating system control.
If you have used the telephone or another application, quit it promptly and set rekordbox (iOS/Android) back to the foreground.

rekordbox (Android) freezes when the Android device is connected to the DJ unit by wireless LAN (Wi-Fi).

In some cases this problem can be solved by updating your Android device to the latest software version.

After turning the XDJ-AERO’s power off then back on, I can no longer load tracks from my mobile device or computer. What should I do to fix this?

If you have turned the power off then back on while the XDJ-AERO was in the [ACCESS POINT] mode, recheck the wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) connection of the mobile device or computer. The mobile device or computer may have connected to a different nearby access point.
If you have turned the power off then back on while the XDJ-AERO was in the [WLAN CLIENT] mode, recheck the wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) connection of the XDJ-AERO. The XDJ-AERO may have connected to a different nearby access point.

"Change LINK Mode" is displayed on the XDJ-AERO.

This message is displayed when the wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) access point to which you are trying to connect the XDJ-AERO is already being used for the Pro DJ Link function of another DJ unit (e.g. CDJ-2000nexus).
The XDJ-AERO does not support Pro DJ Link, so do one of the following:
(1) Turn off the other DJ unit’s power to cancel the Pro DJ Link connection, then restart rekordbox and connect the XDJ-AERO;
(2) Connect the XDJ-AERO and computer or mobile device to a wireless LAN access point other than the one being used for the Pro DJ Link connection;
(3) Switch the XDJ-AERO’s wireless LAN setting to the [ACCESS POINT] mode, then connect the computer or mobile device and the XDJ-AERO directly, without going through a wireless LAN access point.

I don't find the XDJ-AERO on the SSID selection screen of the computer or mobile device.

• The XDJ-AERO may not be set to the [ACCESS POINT] mode. Try setting it to the [ACCESS POINT] mode.
• When using the XDJ-AERO in the [ACCESS POINT] mode, try moving the computer or mobile device closer to the XDJ-AERO.
• If there is another wireless LAN router, a microwave oven, a wireless mouse, wireless headphones, a cordless telephone, etc., (an appliance using the same 2.4 GHz frequency band) in the room, try moving the XDJ-AERO and the computer or mobile device away from such appliances.
• If large amounts of data are being transferred by wireless connection nearby (for example for high picture quality net video playback), try stopping that data transfer.

I have connected the XDJ-AERO and rekordbox by wireless LAN (Wi-Fi), but the XDJ-AERO’s link indicator is not lit.

The link indicator does not light when a mobile device or computer and the XDJ-AERO are connected by wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) connection. The link indicator only lights when the XDJ-AERO and rekordbox (iOS/Android or Mac/Windows) are connected by link.
